Our Build Process
Our Build Process
The journey begins with an initial consultation, budget alignment, and a thorough site evaluation to account for constraints like setbacks, drainage, and elevations.
You will collaborate with a Design Ambassador to finalize 3D renderings and a custom gunite pool layout, while the Blue Haven team handles the heavy lifting of engineering coordination, HOA documentation, and municipal permitting.
Once approved, the dedicated local construction team begins the pool excavation, which is quickly followed by steel and rebar installation.
Next, they construct the steel-reinforced gunite shell, which is engineered specifically to withstand ground pressure and high water tables, and is backed by a transferable lifetime structural warranty.
With the shell in place, the team installs the complete plumbing and circulation systems, alongside all necessary electrical and bonding work.
During this phase, they also install your pool equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, and the exclusive automated SmartFeatures® designed to make pool care virtually effortless.
This is the phase where your design truly comes to life. The team installs your selected waterline tile, glass accents, and coping. The pool interior is then coated with your chosen plaster, such as a highly durable quartz or premium pebble finish.
Finally, the decking and hardscape, whether travertine, marble, or concrete pavers, are meticulously laid out, and custom enhancements like LED lighting, sheer descents, or fire bowls are integrated.
The construction process concludes with the initial pool startup and a post-build walk-through (often called "pool school") to ensure you know exactly how to operate your new backyard features. Long after the project is completed, you are fully supported by Blue Haven's dedicated in-house warranty department for any future needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
While they use fewer materials, the cost of a plunge pool often depends on the features. Because they are frequently outfitted with high-end tile, heaters, and stone work, they represent a "luxury per square foot" investment rather than a "budget" alternative.
While they aren't long enough for traditional laps, we can install a "swim current" or "tether" system. This creates a powerful resistance flow that allows you to swim in place, giving you the functionality of a full-sized lap pool in a fraction of the space.
Yes. Due to their smaller size, plunge pools are excellent candidates for retrofitting into existing patios. We can often integrate them into your current deck layout with minimal disruption to your established landscaping.
Because they hold significantly less water than a standard 15,000-gallon pool, a plunge pool can be heated to spa-like temperatures in a fraction of the time, making it the perfect choice for spontaneous evening dips.
Absolutely. With less surface area to skim and a smaller volume of water to chemically balance, a plunge pool paired with our SmartFeatures® automation is one of the most hands-off options for Florida homeowners.
